Bloom of Midnight

Bloom of Midnight

Growing from a bundle of leaves
Spreading stalk to feel the breeze
Pushing up to the rays of sun
Not caring if the world did shun

Budding with the colour of snow
Bending where the wind did blow
Showing that there was beauty within
Walking on forth on a rope so thin

Whence did midnight come
The bud began to open and drum
Petals burst forth and glowed in night
Shedding light to darkness in sight

Yet once the night so fast had past
Its life so short no longer last
Head bent down and flowers fade
Darkness again the world did wade

Fallen to the ground with none to heed
Its heart so tender and small did bleed
Awaiting the time for it be reclaimed
From tip to toe its self was maimed

Such short sweet precious which few do see
Such joy and sadness felt these few be
Blessed were they to have heard and seen
The wonders of such so few have been
